Nishane is a prestigious Turkish niche fragrance house known for crafting exceptional scents that honor the rich cultural heritage of Istanbul. Karagoz is part of the "Shadow Play" collection launched in 2017, inspired by the traditional Turkish shadow play, an ancient form of storytelling using flat articulated cut-out figures. Karagoz (meaning "black eye" in Turkish) is one of the lead characters of this traditional art form, popularized during the Ottoman period. The creative directors Mert Güzel and Murat Katran dreamed of bringing the legend of Karagöz & Hacivat into today's world, creating this perfume trilogy with perfumer Jorge Lee.
